Sound effects can make a huge difference to your videos. Whether you’re animating text, transitioning between scenes, or adding some extra impact to an edit, the right sound effect can make an edit go from amateur to professional.

That’s why we’ve spent the last few months putting together our first-ever sound effects pack here at Storezar: Whooshes & Risers.

Inside, you’ll find 155 handmade sound effects, covering everything from quick, punchy whooshes to long, cinematic risers. We’ve designed the pack around the sounds we regularly use in our own videos, making it easier for editors to find exactly the right SFX without spending ages searching through different libraries.

And, importantly, every sound has been made by humans – no AI-generated sound effects here! ]

So, let’s take a look at what’s inside.

Whoosh Sound Effects Are Essential For YouTube Videos

If you’ve spent any time editing videos, you’ve almost certainly used a whoosh sound effect before. If you haven’t, then you should! They’re essential for animations of all kinds – our videos wouldn’t be the same without them.

The tricky thing is that not every whoosh works for every animation. A quick text pop needs something completely different from a slow, sweeping camera movement.

That’s why we’ve included eight different categories of whoosh sound effects in our pack, ranging from lighter, sharper sounds to huge cinematic whooshes.

Our Fast, Standard and Medium Whooshes are ideal for everyday video editing, particularly transitions and motion graphics. Meanwhile, the Deep and Massive Whooshes are designed for those bigger moments when you really want an animation to have some impact.

We’ve also included Long Whooshes for drawn-out movements, High Whooshes for lighter animations, High Chop Whooshes for sharper movements, and 21 miscellaneous sounds for when you want something a little different.

What About Riser Sound Effects?

While whooshes generally accompany movement, riser sound effects serve a slightly different purpose.

A riser is a sound that builds in intensity over time, creating anticipation before a particular moment. They’re not only used in YouTube videos but in cinematic trailers and short films.

We’ve included three types of riser sound effects:

— Quick Risers: Perfect for shorter build-ups, quick reveals and snappy transitions.

— Long Risers: Great for cinematic sequences and moments that need a more gradual build-up.

— Horror Risers: Designed to create tension, suspense and a slightly unsettling atmosphere.

And you don’t need to be making a Hollywood blockbuster to use them. Sometimes a dramatic riser can make an otherwise ordinary moment in a YouTube video much funnier.

How We Made Our First SFX Pack

One thing we really wanted to get right with Whooshes & Risers was making the sounds ourselves. Over the last few months, the Storezar team – Finzar, Jack, and our SFX whiz Ken Joyner – has been busy recording, creating and refining these sound effects, putting together a library that we’d genuinely want to use in our own projects.

We’ve spent years editing videos for the Finzar channel, and we know how much of a difference good sound design can make. We also know how frustrating it can be when you’re looking for one specific sound effect and end up scrolling through hundreds of files.

Rather than throwing a load of random sounds into a folder, we’ve tried to make this pack as practical as possible.

Whether you need a deep whoosh for a big animation, a quick riser before a reveal, or something lighter for moving text, you should be able to find a suitable sound without too much digging.
