How to import DaVinci Resolve presets (quick and simple)
Purchased our DaVinci Resolve presets? Then you’re going to want to import them right away.
Luckily, it’s really easy to do. Either watch the video tutorial above or follow these easy and quick steps. But note: these presets are for DaVinci Resolve only and will not work with other softwares (Premiere Pro presets are also available on our website).
First, download your presets. They will come in a ZIP folder which you will need to unzip.
Inside your folder, you will find a DRFX file which contains your presets. Now, double-click on that file and DaVinci Resolve should open up.
An install box should appear on your screen asking you to confirm that you want to install the DaVinci Resolve presets. Click Install. Your presets are now ready to use! You can access them on the Edit page.
If that method doesn’t work, you can add them using a different method. Go to the Fusion page and drag and drop the DRFX file onto the top left panel. This should install the presets.
Finally, in the Essentials pack of presets, there are a set of audio presets. These are unfortunately slightly more difficult to install.
Make sure your folder titled Finzar Essential Audio Effects is in a location where it can stay indefinitely. Head into Davinci, go to the Edit workspace and add any audio clip onto the timeline.
Go into your Effects library and click Audio FX. You should have some Fairlight FX there. Drag and drop any Fairlight FX onto your audio clip.
A window will pop up with the effect. In the top right corner of that window, there will be three dots. Press them and choose Preset Manager.
You now have to select the correct effect for each plug-in. So, let’s say you want to install Heavy Reverb. Choose Reverb from the drop-down menu, press Install, and go to your Finzar Essential Audio Effects folder. Double-click on Heavy Reverb. That’s now installed.
When you drag and drop Reverb onto an audio clip, you will have the preset available to you in this drop-down menu.
The full list of audio presets and their corresponding plugins is included in a text document in the original ZIP folder.
